Founded in 2000 in Belgium by Isabelle Truc, Iota Production merged into the Belgian group Emotions in March 2026. The company has produced more than hundred films including seventy documentaries.

Ma’ohi nui, in the heart of the ocean my country lies by Annick Ghijzelings has been selected for the Berlinale in 2018 (NATIV.e section). Overseas, by Sung-A Yoon, was screened at the Locarno Film Festi- val 2019 (competition Cineasti del presente) for its world premiere and was selected in many festivals (BFI London, Message to Man (UK), Busan, IDFA, ...). My name is clitoris by Daphné Leblond and Lisa Billuart Monnet, sold by BE FOR FILMS, has been selected at DOK Leipzig in October 2019, then has been shown in festivals around the world. The film, Magritte for Best Documentary in 2020, was released in theatres in Belgium, Switzerland and France. These last two films were also awarded a SCAM star in 2020. From the planet of the humans by Giovanni Cioni also had its premiere at the Locarno Film Festival in 2022. Blueberry dreams by Elene Mikaberidze premiered at CPH:DOX 2024 (Next Wave) and has been selected in DOK Leipzig, at the BRIFF and shown all over Europe. Two documentaries are currently in production and several are in development, including Le bois de la pierre by Safia Kessas and Disabled? The stress experience by Marie Mandy.

Since 2006, Iota has produced 14 short films by young talents, some of which have transitioned from short to feature films. Whippet by Cédric Bourgeois is currently in production and The Galipote's Lair by Raphaël Delorme-Duc will be filmed in the fall. Several projects are in development.

2014 and 2015 were years of realization, enhancing our credibility in fiction and our positioning in the national and international market as we successfully managed the production of three feature films: Keeper by Guillaume Senez (selected in over 70 festivals and has received about twenty awards),Welcome Home by Philippe de Pierpont (selected at FIFF Namur in international competition – special mention from the Jury) and Insoumise by Jawad Rhalib (Jury Prize at the Marrakech Film Festival, and selected in 25 festivals around the world). These films have been sold in many territories.

In November 2017, we shot the second feature film by Guillaume Senez Our Battles with Romain Duris in the lead role. This film was selected by the Critics' Week at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival and nominated for the 2019 Césars in the categories of Best Foreign Film and Best Actor. In Belgium, it won 5 Magritte awards in February 2019.


Retro therapy by Élodie Lélu, featuring Fantine Harduin, Hélène Vincent, and Olivier Gourmet in the main roles, was released in theaters in May 2024 in Belgium and France, then in September 2024 in Canada. This film was co-produced by Camera Oscura (in Quebec) and Mandala Films (in France). It is distributed in France by DAISY DAY, in Quebec by FILMOPTION, and in Belgium by DISTRI7. International sales are handled by BE FOR FILMS.
Cap Farewell by Vanja d’Alcantara, featuring Noée Abita, Pascale Bussières, Olivier Gourmet, and Aélis Mottart in the main roles, has now been released in theaters. This film was co-produced by ACPAV in Canada and by Volya Films in Holland. The Benelux distribution is handled by DISTRI7 and in Canada by MAISON 4/3 in April 2026 and in France by DESTINY FILMS where it will be released in July 2026.

We have several feature films in development: Ciao Amore by Amélia Nanni, Ali is not of age by Géraldine Doignon, No one is afraid of people who smile by Vanja d’Alcantara, Apocadanatchi ! by Alexis Van Stratum, Aftermath by Anne Lévy-Morelle, My Mother is a Star by Gabriel Pinto Monteiro, The Creature of the Swamp by Raphaël Delorme-Duc, Mother's Pain by Marie Enthoven and At Nadette's written by Laura Fautré and Christelle Delbrouck, which will be directed by Andréa Bescond.


In terms of animation, in 2014, we participated in the production of Tomm Moore's second animated feature filmSong of the Sea, nominated for the Oscars and Césars and awarded the best European animated feature in 2015. We co-produced in 2022Look for the Womana 30 x 3 min animated series directed by Julie Gavras and the Brigade du titre, produced by Films du Bilboquet and Zadig and supported by ARTE. We are open to new animation co-production projects

Benefiting from a strong and privileged relationship with authors and creators, and after producing about ten feature films, Iota Production is now investing in the series field by encouraging talents to merge their personal universes with the creative vitality that makes Belgium a particularly conducive ground. Currently, we are developing The Mysteries of Condroz by Valérie Lieko and Anthony Tueni with the support of RTBF and the Belgian Series Fund (writing aid).

Co-production is also part of the activity, allowing us to build connections with other producers, regulate our own production pace, and expand the realm of possibilities. Recently, the Latvian feature film Oleg by Juris Kursietis was selected by the Directors' Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival 2019 and won the Grand Prix in the national competition at the Brussels International Film Festival 2019 (BRIFF). The Greek feature film Tailor by Sonia Liza Kenterman has circulated in numerous festivals and received two awards at the Hellenics Awards 2021, among others. We co-produced the Moroccan-Tunisian feature film Backstage directed by Afef Ben Mahmoud and Khalil Benkirane, selected at the Venice Film Festival 2023 (Giornate Degli Autori section) and which received the Cinema & Art Awards. We are currently in post-production The Whale by Sylvère Petit (Les Films d’Ici) and In a minute you will be gone by Hadas Ayalon (Lama Films).

Isabelle Truc

Producer

With a degree in communication and journalism, Isabelle has worked for several years in the Belgian film industry as an assistant and then production manager. Subsequently, within the Belgian production companies she founded, Iota Production (fiction and documentary) in March 2000, she has produced over a hundred films since (short and feature fiction films, documentaries, animations, series development).

Natacha Hostyn

Producer

After obtaining a master's degree in screenwriting and film analysis and completing numerous internships in the film industry, Natacha joined Iota Production in 2019 as a production administrator. Gradually, she established herself as a production manager, then as a producer starting in 2023. Member of the European network EURODOC.

Guillaume Nolevaux

Post-production manager

Graduated from the Institute of Arts and Diffusion in the editing/script section, Guillaume joined the IOTA team in June 2019 as a post-production manager.
